Hi, nice to meet you.

Me in minecraft.

Me in real life.

A short visual description: I have thick brown (sometimes long) hair, blue eyes, and I am 5'5.

Origins, Past, and the Future

My name is Isaac and I was born in 2006, and as of today I am 18 years old.

I was born in New York City and I continued living in the United States, eventually moving from New York to Connecticut when I was 6, till I was 8 years old.

In 2014 I moved to Berlin, Germany 🥨 which was a massive lifestyle change for my younger self. I attended the German-American John F. Kennedy School from 3rd grade till graduation.

I graduated with a pretty stacked American High School Diploma packed with 9 AP exams in order for me to qualify for studying in Germany without needing a German Diploma (Abitur)

Throughout High School I made plenty of friends, I had tons of amazing experiences, and overall it was an awesome time in my life. Not only was Berlin a really cool city to grow up in, the bilingual environment was very unique and left a lasting impression on me to be a more open-minded and accepting person.

I went through the trouble of taking tons of APs because my goal was to study Computer Science at TUM or the Technical University of Munich which boasts a consistent top 20 ranking in the world when it comes to Computer Science, and charges a meager fee of 80 euros per semester. Quite a bargain.

This I did, and I will be starting my studies in April of 2025.

To be continued...

A little bit about me!

Ever since I was a little kid I have been fascinated by technology. Due to my obsession with computers, my childhood was inextricably intertwined with the digital world.

My childhood and teenage years consisted mainly of playing video games, watching youtubers play video games, and watching twitch streamers play video games. I was pretty obsessed when it came to video games, and Covid-19 only made that obsession worse.

After the pandemic I started getting bored of video games and decided to go outside for once. This is when I started listening to music, using social media, and ultimately became the person I am today.

Nowadays I listen to music every single day, and it has become an integral part of who I am. My two favorite artists of all time are MF Doom and TV Girl. Although I listen to a lot of indie so my most listened to songs don't tend to be sung by one particular person.

Besides music I started reading books on my own time as well, specifically fantasy and dystopian books, some of my favorites are the Lord of the Rings, the Kingkiller Chronicle, and Frankenstein.

Video Games

Video games are probably my favorite example of computer programming. Video games easily leave their closest ancestor (board games) in the dust. No doubt. I have been playing all sorts of video games since I was 6 years old. So I know a thing or two about them. Therefore I have curated a list of my three favorite video games of all time. Click the button if you want to check it out!

My Top 3 Video Games

I remember coming home, turning on the iPad, and watching youtubers such as Stampylonghead, iBallisticSquid, PopularMMOs, CaptainSparklez, SSundee, and many more for hours on end. Some of my best childhood memories are associated with playing Minecraft with friends, playing on servers such as The Hive, Mineplex, and Hypixel, and watching countless minecraft let's plays on youtube. I believe minecraft between the years 2014 and 2020 was and still is the best game of all time.

Terraria, minecraft's brother, has the best singleplayer sandbox gaming experience and progression system that I have ever seen. The game is extremely satisfying to play through. I had so much fun playing Terraria that I even started my own youtube channel by recording Terraria gameplay with my DS' camera.

Castle Crashers, a classic fighting game, has a funny story, cool character design, and an amazing soundtrack. I won't forget coming home after school, booting up my PS3 and playing Castle Crashers with a friend. Simply one of the best games when it comes to replayability.

Hobbies

Sports

I picked up volleyball towards the end of High School at an afterschool activity and it is still my favorite sport to play. Playing volleyball in a large group of friends is both hilarious and competetive which makes the game really enjoyable.

Ice skating is my favorite winter sport, and as a kid it was my favorite winter activity, and partly why I've always loved winter. For some reason I picked up Ice skating really easily as a kid, and was able to become pretty proficient just by teaching myself how to skate.

Skiing is without a doubt my second favorite winter sport, and would be my first if it weren’t for the insane costs that come with it.

In the summer of 2023 I started weight lifting, and since then the gym became both an important and therapeutic place for me. The gym helped me battle my anxiety at the time, by forcing my mind to focus on lifting instead of overthinking. That's why in my Junior year I went 6-7 times a week, 2 hours a session, and non-stop for an entire year.

Another reason why weight lifting is really the only sport that stuck with me is because it lacks that competitive nature that most sports have. I was never interested in athletic competition, and on top of this I had good genetics for the gym. I ended up benching 100 kg (225 lbs) before the end of my first year in the gym despite weighing only 70 kg.

Art

Next we have pixel art which I actually picked up recently (end of 2024), although I haven’t been practicing it as much as I would have liked. I want to learn pixel art because I’ve always had the dream of developing a video game completely on my own with a pixel art style. This ties into my most important and favorite hobby of them all which is * drum roll please * CODING.

Coding

I started coding for the first time in elementary school when I got my hands on Scratch, and later in High School I learned both Python and Java in Computer Science class. I'm currently learning Javascript, HTML, and CSS for my internship which you can learn more about in my portfolio.

I always had a natural talent for mathematics which helped me greatly when it came to coding. In general my problem solving skills, a good grasp on logic & mathematics, and a knack for solving puzzles made coding the most entertaining hobby. Additionally, I was a rather tech-savvy person and coding has always intrigued me.

At school I did leetcode problems, coded a semi-functional game in Pygame, coded a pretty boring RPG in Java, and learned way too much about recursions, algorithms, and whatever dynamic programming is. At home I would either continue on these projects or work on modding minecraft in Java using Fabric, or testing out Unity with the C# language.
